Feel secure and at peace during your visit to Thailand, as the country has officially extended its free insurance program for international visitors until December 31, 2024. This initiative, spearheaded by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, ensures that foreign visitors receive assistance in emergencies, including accidents, crimes, and natural disasters while in Thailand.
Under this program, foreign visitors are eligible for cash compensation in severe medical emergencies and fatalities. Medical expenses from accidents can be covered up to THB 500,000, while in the unfortunate event of death, the policy provides one million baht in compensation to the tourist or their family. However, this coverage does not apply if visitors can claim insurance from their travel providers or if separate insurance is offered by hotels, attractions, or tourism operators.
